New Lampshades for Old Lamps
Your lamp deserves a new shade.
Sometimes it's not the lamp that needs replacing – but just its lampshade.
Many high-quality table lamps, floor lamps, or vintage lights accompany their owners for decades. The frame, switch, and technology still function perfectly, while the lampshade has yellowed, shows damage, or simply no longer matches personal taste and current decor.
A new lampshade can completely change the effect of a lamp and give it a second life.

Recovering Lampshades
Especially with high-quality luminaires, it is worthwhile to recover the existing shade. Many older shades have sturdy frames that are still in excellent condition even after decades.
A new fabric cover transforms an existing piece into a completely new luminaire. Colors, patterns, materials, and light effects can be specifically matched to the room and the desired style. Currently, I undertake the recovery of cylinder and trapezoid shades.

Custom Lampshades
Recovering is not always the best solution. Often, a completely new custom lampshade is recommended. Here, height, diameter, shape, and light effect are individually matched to the existing lamp. Whether small table lamps, large floor lamps, or special vintage lights – each shade is handcrafted.
A custom lampshade allows the proportions of a lamp to be precisely matched to the spatial conditions and the desired atmosphere.

Fabrics, Patterns, and Materials
For manufacturing and recovering, I use selected fabrics, papers, and translucent materials. Options include Japanese cotton fabrics, designer textiles, handmade parchment paper, modern weaves, and classic upholstery fabrics. Depending on your preference, simple fabric patterns, striking patterns, fringes, braids, or special edges can be incorporated.
The fabric used influences not only the appearance of the lampshade but also the light distribution and the overall lighting effect in the room.

More Atmosphere for Living Rooms and Bedrooms
A new lampshade not only changes the lamp itself but also the effect of the entire room. In the living room, warm light islands are created next to the sofa or sideboard. In the bedroom, translucent fabrics provide pleasant and cozy lighting. Often, a new lampshade is enough to give a familiar luminaire a completely new look.
How to Make an Inquiry
If you would like to have a lampshade recovered or a custom lampshade made, please send me an inquiry.
It is helpful to include some photos of the lamp and information about the height, diameter, and existing shape of the shade. Photos of the room or decor can also be helpful in selecting suitable fabrics.
You will then receive information about the possibilities, suitable materials, an approximate delivery time, and an individual offer.
Personal Consultation
Many customers already have concrete ideas, while others want support in choosing the fabric, shape, or lighting effect.

FAQ: Further Questions About Replacing Lampshades
What information do you need for an inquiry?
For an initial assessment, it is usually sufficient if you send some photos of your lamp and the existing lampshade.
Information on the height, diameter, and other dimensions of the shade is also helpful. The more information available, the more accurately I can recommend suitable solutions and materials.
How can I send an inquiry?
You can easily send your inquiry via the contact form or by email.
Please include photos, dimensions, and a brief description of your ideas if possible. You will then receive information about the possibilities, the estimated delivery time, and an individual offer.
What fabrics are available?
A wide selection of fabrics and materials is available for new lampshades and recovering.
These include, among others, Japanese cotton fabrics, classic upholstery fabrics, modern designer fabrics, parchment, paper ribbon, and various translucent materials for a special lighting effect.
Can I receive fabric samples in advance?
Yes. For many projects, fabric samples or material examples can be provided.
Especially if a lampshade is to be matched to existing decor, a sofa, or other furniture, this facilitates the selection of suitable colors and patterns.
Are special designs also possible?
Yes. Depending on the project, lampshades can be designed with braids, fringes, or special edges.
Gold leaf optics, decorative fabrics, or unusual designs are also possible. Together we will find a solution that matches your lamp and your personal style.
Can lampshades be made for glass lamps?
Yes. Many lampshades are specially made for lamps with glass, ceramic, or metal bases.
The shape of the lampshade is individually matched to the respective frame to achieve a harmonious appearance and balanced light distribution.
Are new frames used?
Depending on the project, the existing frame can be reused, or a new lampshade can be made.
When recovering, the ring, frame, and construction are retained. When making a new shade, the shape, size, and cut are individually planned.
How are the lampshades made?
Each lampshade is handcrafted or recovered.
Cutting, fabric covering, seams, edges, and material selection play an important role. Many steps are performed by hand to ensure high-quality workmanship and a consistent lighting effect.
What is the delivery time?
The delivery time depends on the scope of the project and the availability of the desired materials.
Since each lampshade is custom-made, you will receive an estimate of the timeline after your inquiry.
What does a new lampshade cost?
The price depends on the size, shape, material, fabric choice, and desired design.
A custom lampshade naturally differs from industrially manufactured mass-produced items. However, it results in a unique piece that is perfectly tailored to your lamp and your home.
Are there examples of completed projects?
Yes. On this page and in my collections, you will find various examples of lampshades already created.
These projects show different shapes, materials, fabrics, and lighting effects and can serve as inspiration for your own selection.
Can I get information about other customers' experiences beforehand?
Many customers send photos of their lamps in their new home after a project is completed.
These examples show how much a new lampshade can change the atmosphere of a room. Personal recommendations and reviews are a valuable guide for many interested parties when making a selection.
