The lamp base is made from an original jug vase with a strong handle, whose expressive Fat Lava glaze is one of the most striking ceramic styles of the 1970s. The deeply structured surface with its volcanic-looking lava glaze and strong orange and black tones gives the vase an almost sculptural presence. Its raw materiality is reminiscent of Brutalism, where structure, surface, and artisanal expression are deliberately emphasized. Despite its compact size, the vase has an exceptionally strong spatial impact.
The lamp shade from the Pop Weave Collection forms an exciting counterpoint. Instead of a classic fabric cover, the shade is made with colored threads using a special weaving technique.
