Bay Keramik Vase Lamp "Bodo Mans" - Cordless Design Lamp made from West German Pottery
This expressive small table lamp has been upcycled from an original Bay Keramik vase by Bodo Mans from the 1970s. The lamp was fitted with a lampshade made of high-quality cotton fabric - handmade in the Roomlight Studio workshop. The result is a unique piece with character that combines the design language of the 1970s - here one of Bodo Mans' style-defining organically inspired relief decors - with a modern, botanical fabric pattern.
The vase comes from one of the most famous design series by Bodo Mans, whose works for Bay Keramik are still among the most popular examples of West German Pottery. The sculptural relief ornaments, the intensely blue-green Fat Lava glaze and the striking medallion on the front give the vase its extraordinary presence.
The small cylindrical lampshade was handmade in our Berlin workshop and covered with a high-quality, translucent cotton fabric. This is a Westfalen fabric from the Signapur series - a classic from the manufacturer. The delicate leaf motif in petrol/turquoise and cream emphasizes the colors of the ceramic without competing with it. When switched on, a pleasantly soft light is created, allowing the fabric to glow subtly from within.

Gentle conversion to a lamp
The original vintage vase was converted into a lamp without drilling and with a reversible plug-in solution. This preserves the ceramic completely and maintains its collector's value. The lamp base was additionally weighted for a secure stand.
Cordless Lighting
The lamp is equipped with a rechargeable LED bulb that is charged via USB-C. Depending on the brightness, the lighting duration is approximately 6 to 12 hours. Brightness and light color can be easily adjusted using the included remote control. This makes the lamp ideal as an accent lamp on sideboards, windowsills, shelves or bedside tables - as well as for balconies or terraces, completely without annoying cables.
The LED bulb is a standard model and can be easily replaced at any time if necessary.
