Cordless Table Lamp made from Cari Zalloni Ceramic – Cityscape Collection | 31 cm
This extraordinary table lamp is part of the Cityscape Collection by Roomlight Studio, combining iconic 1970s ceramic design with contemporary textile design. The lamp base was made from an original ceramic vase by Cari Zalloni, whose designs for Steuler Keramik are now among the most significant classics of West German Pottery. His sculptural forms and architectural compositions still appear surprisingly modern today, making every vase a small design object.
For the Cityscape Collection, these characteristic ceramics are combined with exclusive fabrics whose motifs depict urban skylines. The handmade lampshade picks up on the geometric forms of the vase and translates them into a colourful composition of skyscrapers, facades, and urban canyons. The stacked building blocks of the fabric design reflect Cari Zalloni's architectural language and create a connection between mid-century ceramics and contemporary textile design.
The vase's rich ruby-red glaze harmonises perfectly with the red, turquoise, and grey tones of the shade. When switched on, the colours begin to glow, giving the lamp a warm, urban atmosphere – like a nocturnal skyline full of lights.
The lamp is cordless and can therefore be used flexibly wherever atmospheric light is desired – on dining tables, sideboards, windowsills, bedside tables, or on balconies and terraces in summer.
The rechargeable LED light source is conveniently charged via USB-C and offers – depending on brightness – a light duration of up to 12 hours. The included remote control allows individual adjustment of brightness and light colour – from warm white ambient light to neutral white. The light source is CE-approved and can be easily re-purchased at any time if needed.
Like all lamps from Roomlight Studio, this unique piece was converted into a lamp with particular care. The collector's value of the original Cari Zalloni vase is preserved, as no drilling was carried out. The reversible plug-in solution allows it to be returned to its original state at any time. The lamp base is additionally weighted to ensure a secure stand.
