Sculptural Table Lamp from Fohr Vase - West Germany
Fohr Vase Lamp 70s with expressive Red-Green Glaze
This exceptional – newly assembled – West German Pottery vase lamp was crafted from a striking ceramic vase by the ceramic manufacturer Fohr in the 1960s/70s.
In the late 60s, the manufacturer implemented several designs with very eccentric shapes and powerful glazes with the internationally renowned designer Cari Zalloni. There is no proof that the design of these very exclusive vases (small edition) came from his hand, but the shape and color language suggest it.
The shape is powerful and architectural:
wide base, conically rising ribbed body, two symmetrical handles and a distinctive shoulder.
The glaze is spectacular:
luminous red meets vibrant green gradients with subtle nuances – a true statement piece with a lot of energy.
Object-preserving Upcycling
The conversion to a lamp is completely object-preserving:
• no drilling
• no irreversible interventions
• Original collector's value is retained
The socket is anchored by an internal fixing system with cork and clamp. The vase has been weighted for stability. The opening is sealed with a high-quality brass plate, and the threaded rod is brass-coated.
The lamp is delivered wirelessly:
• E27 socket
• rechargeable LED bulb
• warm white light
• remote control included
• RGB color options
• runtime up to 14 hours
• USB charging
• flexible room staging without visible cable
Optional wiring is available for an additional charge of €25.
The cylindrical shade from Roomlight Studio is covered with marbled bookbinder paper in an expressive color composition. The organic color areas in coral, olive, and cream pick up on the glaze of the vase and enhance its expressive effect.
With its colors, the lamp is an eye-catcher. The light is warm, soft, and atmospheric – as an accent lamp on a sideboard or console, it fully unfolds its presence. In combination with colored LED light, the intensity of the ceramic is significantly enhanced once again.
A characterful unique piece with a clear 70s flair –
powerful, color-intensive, and artistically reinterpreted.
