Cordless Vase Lamp – suitable for balcony, terrace or living room – crafted from a designer vase by Steuler Keramik

This table lamp is based on a vase from the well-known "Zyklon" series, designed by Cari Zalloni. Cari Zalloni (1937–2012) was an Italian designer who first became known for his expressive ceramic designs for the German company Steuler Keramik. From the 1960s onwards, as chief designer there, he shaped the brand's image with organic forms, strong colors and experimental glazes – particularly with iconic series such as "Zyklon". In addition, he designed glass objects for WMF, and bath and ski fashion. In the 1980s, the sunglasses of his brand Cazal became a style-defining element of hip-hop culture in New York City. Artists such as Run-D.M.C. and LL Cool J wore his models. Today, Cari Zalloni is considered a versatile designer who profoundly influenced both post-war European ceramics and international pop and streetwear culture.

The vase features the characteristic Zyklon decor: concentric, circular structures worked into the surface like rotating movements. In combination with the deep blue glaze, this creates strong visual depth, giving the compact, cubic form a special presence.

Gentle conversion to a lamp: The vase was converted into a lamp with careful preservation of the object – using a firmly anchored, yet reversible, plug-in solution. The lamp base is securely weighted, ensuring stability. The vase opening has been sealed with a high-quality brass cap. The collector's value of the vase with its base mark remains fully preserved.

Technology – cordless & flexible: E27 socket in brass look. The lamp is powered by a rechargeable LED bulb, which can be charged via a USB-C cable. Lighting duration up to 12 hours. The bulb can be repurchased at any time for approximately 12 Euros. The LED bulb is suitable for outdoor use. It can be dimmed via the included remote control – multiple light colors are adjustable.

Thanks to its cordless use, the lamp is particularly well-suited for places without direct power access, such as balconies, terraces, or gardens.

The lampshade is covered with a Japanese cotton fabric featuring a koi motif. The pattern shows stylized carp and water movements, creating a calm, flowing visual effect.

The fabric is very translucent and ensures a particularly soft, even light distribution. In combination with the deep blue vase, a harmonious, color-coordinated overall impression is created.
