Pop Art: Cordless Vintage Table Lamp Made from Übelacker Ceramic
Cordless table lamp – suitable for balcony, terrace or living room – upcycled from a ceramic vase by the renowned ceramic manufacturer Übelacker – from the West German Pottery era – 70s.
This vase lamp combines a distinctive 1960s/70s ceramic vase with an elaborately handcrafted lampshade from the Roomlight Studio. Thanks to its cordless technology, the lamp can be used flexibly – both indoors and in sheltered outdoor areas.
The vase displays a design language typical of West German Pottery, with a clearly structured form and side handle attachments. The glaze in vibrant orange and subdued green emphasizes its Mid-Century character. The manufacturer cannot be definitively identified – stylistically, the vase is reminiscent of productions by Dümler & Breiden, but does not have their typical markings.

Gentle Conversion to a Lamp
The vase was carefully converted into a lamp – using a firmly anchored, but reversible plug-in solution. The lamp base is stably weighted to ensure a secure stand. The vase opening was sealed with a high-quality brass cap.
The collector's value of the vase remains completely intact.

Technology – Cordless & Flexible:
The lamp is powered by a rechargeable LED bulb, which can be charged via a USB-C cable. Lighting duration up to 12 hours. The bulb can be repurchased at any time for approximately 12 Euros. The LED bulb is suitable for outdoor use. It can be dimmed via the included remote control – multiple light colors are adjustable.
Thanks to its cordless use, the lamp is particularly well-suited for places without a direct power connection, such as on a balcony, terrace, or in the garden.
The Lampshade

The lampshade is based on a shade cage covered with textile threads in orange and turquoise. The covering is done by hand and creates a lively, slightly transparent structure.
When switched on, a characteristic play of light emerges: the colored threads filter the light and cast fine, vertical light lines into the room. The color of the shade picks up the tones of the vase and enhances the sculptural effect of the ceramic base.
