This handcrafted accent lamp is based on an original ceramic vase from Marei – the MAjolikafabrik REInbach (Jean Fuss & Sohn). Marei was one of the defining manufacturers of West German Pottery and is known for its distinctive shapes and expressive glazes.
The vase features the classic amphora shape with two handles and a particularly charming flowing glaze in cream white and warm terracotta tones. The organically flowing glaze patterns give each piece an individual character and are reminiscent of Mediterranean post-war ceramics. The vase is 17 cm high, and the finished lamp reaches a total height of 38 cm.
The lampshade is covered with a high-quality French decorative fabric. The graphic leaf motif in black on a warm rosé tone creates a special effect both when switched off and when illuminated. The clean lines of the pattern contrast beautifully with the soft, handcrafted surface of the ceramic. The shade measures 20 x 20 cm and provides a pleasantly warm, atmospheric light.
Conversion to a Lamp
The original vase has been carefully converted into a lamp. No drilling was carried out. The construction is enclosed and weighted, so that the original ceramic is preserved and the lamp has a secure stand. The distinctive vintage vase thus remains recognizable as a collector's item.
Technology – Cordless & Flexible
The lamp is powered by a rechargeable LED bulb, which can be charged via a USB-C cable. Lighting duration up to 12 hours. The bulb can be re-purchased at any time for approximately 12 euros. The LED bulb is suitable for outdoor use. It can be dimmed via the included remote control – several light colors are adjustable. Due to its cordless use, the lamp is particularly suitable for places without a direct power connection, such as on balconies, terraces or in gardens.
