Vintage table lamp made from Scheurich ceramics with new crane shade
This exceptional table lamp is based on an original ceramic vase by Scheurich from the 1960s/70s. Scheurich is one of the most important manufacturers of West German Pottery and became internationally known for its experimental glazes and serially produced designer vases. Many of the manufacturer's designs still appear astonishingly modern today and are exemplary of the expressive formal language of German ceramic modernism.
The vase shows a strongly plastic, rhythmically structured form with softly modeled wave structures – typical for the more experimental Scheurich series of this period. The deep, glossy red/black glaze is particularly impressive.
Dimensions:
Vase: approx. 24 cm high
Total lamp: approx. 52 cm high
Lampshade: approx. 23 cm diameter, 27 cm height
Lampshade:
The lampshade is covered with a high-quality cotton fabric in deep dark blue. The stylized crane motif is inspired by Japanese textile designs and harmonizes perfectly with the cool, intense glaze of the vase. The red accents of the fabric pick up on the trim of the shade and, when switched on, create an elegant, warm lighting atmosphere.
Conversion to lamp:
The vase has been expertly converted into a table lamp. The cable is fed directly into the socket at the back, so no hole had to be drilled into the vase. Equipped with E27 socket, transparent cable, rocker switch, and Euro plug.
A characterful Mid-Century unique piece with authentic West German Pottery origin – perfect as a statement piece for sideboards, lounges, or stylish room arrangements.
