Ceramic Vase Lamp by Übelacker Keramik – West German Pottery of the 1960s/70s.

This table lamp is based on a ceramic vase by the manufacturer Übelacker, a producer associated with West German Pottery, known in the second half of the 20th century for its decorative studio ceramics with sculptural relief decorations. The vase features a striking, vertically arranged plant motif deeply carved into the surface. The vibrant orange glaze emphasizes the relief and gives the object an expressive presence. The shape of the vase is clear and slightly conical. Typical of many ceramics of this period, it combines a simple basic form with a highly structured surface.

The vase was converted into a lamp with care – using a firmly anchored yet reversible plug-in solution. The lamp base is stably weighted for secure standing. The vase opening was closed with a high-quality decorative brass cap. The collector's value of the vase is fully preserved.

E27 socket made of black bakelite with transparent cable, switch, and plug. The cable is routed directly into the back of the socket, eliminating the need to drill holes in the vase.

The lampshade is built on a 25 cm high frame and covered with an elastic multicolor thread – very fitting for the vase. It is 22 cm wide at the bottom and 20 cm at the top. When switched on, the vertically arranged threads create a lively play of light, casting colored light strips on the wall and surroundings. The warm red, orange, and green tones pick up the colors of the vase and enhance the sculptural effect of the ceramic relief, creating a very characteristic, atmospheric illumination.

This lamp combines an expressive West German ceramic piece with an unusual, handcrafted lampshade.
