Vintage Table Lamp made from VEB Haldensleben Ceramics
This vase lamp is based on an original ceramic vase by VEB Haldensleben Keramik, GDR. The manufacturer was one of the formative ceramic companies in the former GDR. Characteristic features include clear, reduced forms and striking glazes with a strong recognition value. The vase used here features a typical mottled flowing glaze in intense blue on a light background – powerful, graphic. The plastically structured form with a slightly offset neck gives the vase a calm, architectural presence.
The conversion to a lamp is completely object-friendly: • no drilling • no irreversible interventions • reversible brass metal construction • collector's value of the vase is preserved
The lamp holder is anchored with a cork and a clamp inside the vase. The vase has been weighted with sand for a secure stand. The vase opening is sealed with a high-quality brass plate, the threaded rod comes with a brass casing, the socket is black: • E27 socket made of black bakelite • CE marked • designed for up to 120 volts • transparent cable, which leads directly into the socket from the outside • transparent toggle switch / EU plug
The modern cylindrical shade (25 x 25 cm) by Roomlight Studio is covered with a high-quality fabric featuring floral elements in red and blue. The bold pattern creates an exciting contrast to the ceramic base.
The light is warm and even – ideal as an accent lamp on a sideboard, console, or bedside table.
