Rare, matching pair of lamps made from original ceramic vases by Walter Brecht – a striking example of the form and color aesthetics of 1970s West German Pottery.

The vases feature a distinctive, almost architectural silhouette with a side handle and clearly defined shoulder. The characteristic glaze transitions from deep midnight blue at the top to a vibrant, textured red in the body – a typical, high-quality color gradient of the era.

Both vases have been carefully and stylishly converted into table lamps and combined with custom-made lampshades.

Lampshades: The shades are covered with a high-quality, deep blue fabric featuring an elegant crane motif. The vibrant red trim creates a deliberate contrast and picks up on the colors of the vases – a very harmonious, graphically strong overall look with a Japanese-inspired feel.

Dimensions: Large lamp: approx. 56 cm high Small lamp: approx. 50 cm high Vases: approx. 14 cm wide, 7 cm deep Lampshades: approx. 25 cm diameter each

Technology: Both lamps are wired and ready for immediate use.

The conversion was carried out with care, without affecting the ceramic's integrity. No holes were drilled - the collector's value has been fully preserved.

An extraordinary set of rare value – ideal as a pair on a sideboard or console, but also effective when used individually.
